South West Mini-Workshops

The South West District team is working to adapt our mini workshops to be delivered on-line. No travel required and physical distancing will be a breeze. We’ll meet using Zoom video conferencing. You can join from your laptop, tablet, smartphone, or desktop computer.

  • Grant Writing
    • Learn the 8 essential tools to help write a strong grant application and keep all your research organized. Runs about 3-4 hours.
  • Sponsorships
    • Learn to develop sponsorship opportunities, a strong sponsorship proposal,  how to identify sponsors, and how to building sponsorship relationships. Runs about 3 hours.
  • Effective Meetings
    • Learn the elements of a successful meeting. Runs about 2 hours.

Respect in Sport Parent Program
On-Line Learning
The South West District is pleased to offer the Respect in Sport Parent Program
A 1-hour bilingual online certification program designed to educate parents and guardians who have children or youth involved in sport and community-based programs. You can take this online 6 module course at your own pace and schedule. 
FREE. The District will cover the cost of the course for participants from South West member communities. Registration is limited to 25 people.

Sport Science

Offered on-line using Zoom. We'll set-up a workshop to meet the day/time of interested participants.

In partnership with the Sport Medicine and Science Council of Saskatchewan, we are offering a series of 6 x 1-hour on-line courses. Register for as many as you like!
Registration deadline is 48 hours prior to the start of the workshop.
Training will be offered using the Zoom platform.

  • Sleep and Performance
    • Sleep quality and quantity, deprivation, effects on sleep through travel, nutrition, exercise and mental, medical considerations and how to sleep better. 1 hour.
    • Thursday, May 14, 6-7 PM.
  • Mental Performance - Goals
    • Goal setting, setting realistic short term and long term goals, monitoring goals. 1 hour.
    • Tuesday, May 19, 4-5 PM
  • Mental Performance - Stress and Relaxation
    • Attention, emotional, and arousal control to deal with anxiety or stress. 1 hour.
    • Tuesday, May 26, 4-5 PM.
  • Mental Performance - Imagery
    • How to use mental imagery and visualization effectively. 1 hour.
    • Tuesday, June 2, 4-5 PM.
  • Mental Performance - Routines
    • How to use routines and practices effectively. 1 hour.
    • Tuesday, June 9, 4-5 PM.
  • Sport Nutrition
    • Basic sport nutrition, importance of fluids, weight issues, pre/post event nutrition, nutrition on the road, tournament and multi-event nutrition. 1 hour.
    • Thursday, June 11, 6-7 PM.

Coaches Association of Saskatchewan
NCCP Online Learning
The Coaches Association of Saskatchewan (CAS) is offering NCCP multi-sport training ONLINE to support the continuing development of coaches in our province. All workshops will be offered ONLINE through Adobe Connect.

Competition - Introduction and Community workshops are $50 each for non-members.
´╗┐Competition-Development workshops vary in price based on length, and are priced from $75 to $150 for non-members.
